Stephanie M. Barnett and Susan C. Rempel, Ph.D., presented “Legal Custody: an under-appreciated area of family law.”
Ms. Barnett and Dr. Rempel facilitated a discussion of possible alternatives to management of decision-making in high conflict cases, including consideration of sole and joint legal custody, and “carving out” areas of legal decision-making. The speakers also presented an update regarding the recent amendments to the California Family Code concerning the impact of Domestic Violence in family law matters.
